Mike Duffy

Mike Duffy

Chief Development Officer

Mike has 44 plus years’ experience in Real Estate Development. He oversees all aspects of the Company’s real estate development activities including multifamily, commercial, senior housing, and master plnned communities. Mike collaborates with other members of the senior management team to develop and implement Shea Connelly’s real estate development strategic plan. Mike has been involved in the development and construction of over 1.6 billion dollars of real estate. Many of his developments were award winners. he has been an active member of the American Institute of Architects, NCARB, Urban Land Institute, and American Planning Association. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, with post graduate work in community and regional planning from North Dakota State University.

Jay “Corky” Northrop

Jay has been a recognized leader in the real estate industry, providing new, innovative solutions for more than 35 years. Corky’s experience includes real estate development and management, portfolio operations management, opening and repositioning properties through lease-up and rehabilitation, forecasting & cost analysis, and developing marketing & advertising programs. Corky is responsible for establishing a rigorous training program for sales teams focused on customer service, resident retention, and standardized policies and procedures – which sets his management style apart from competitors and leads to efficient and profitable management. His customer driven approach has yielded an average of 90%+ ratings in customer service, response time, and professionalism among residents and prospective residents for properties he has managed.

Prior, Corky served as Executive Vice President of Property Management with Evans Withycombe Residential Inc., where he supervised a portfolio of 15,000+ units in Arizona and California. With his vast knowledge of real estate management, Corky was instrumental in taking Evans Withycombe public in 1994.

Corky is a licensed real estate agent in Arizona, a member of the National Apartment Association, past board member of the Arizona Multi-Housing Association, and a Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS®). He has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Arizona State University.

Dan Williams

Dan Williams has over 20 years of experience in the Senior Living Industry and has been involved in over 100 communities, including 30 ground-up projects. He helped two senior living organizations in the Northwest US scale significantly and served as Principal, President, COO, and VP of Operations in senior housing leadership roles. Dan is a capital partner in over a dozen senior housing communities across the US, and he is a frequent speaker on industry topics. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute – Senior Housing Council.

Elliott Westerman

With a background in commercial real estate investment, finance, and economics, Elliot Westermann has gained expertise in asset management, operations, market research, and statistical analysis. He also has experience in Geographic Information Systems, which he has utilized in his work. Elliot is passionate about leading strategic initiatives from thought to execution and has a proven track record of success in this area. His ultimate goal is to leverage his expertise to help organizations achieve their financial goals and thrive in their respective industries.

Joseph C McCarron, JR, CPA

With over 25 years of experience in executive positions as CEO, President, CFO, and consultant, Joseph McCarron is an expert in capital formation, property development, and operations management. He has a particular emphasis on the Seniors Housing & Care Industry, having represented over $2B of invested capital in this sector. As Principal & Founder of Capital Care Associates, LLC, Mr. McCarron provides business and financial advisory services to the industry.

As the Chief Strategy Officer for Wellpoint, David McCarron is responsible for tracking and reporting industry news and information, supporting new business development activities, and informing practice standards to target new industry trends and opportunities. With a BA in History from the University of New Hampshire and a MA degree in the Management of Aging Services from the Erickson School at the University of Maryland (UMBC), he is well-equipped to undertake these tasks. Mr. McCarron also co-founded a Coworking Studio in North Port, FL, and was named one of twenty “People to Watch” by Biz (941).

Greg Hunteman, AIA

Greg Hunteman, President of Pi Architects, has been involved in senior living projects since his graduation from the University of Texas at Austin.

Greg is also the 2022-2023 co-chair of the AIA Design For Aging Knowledge Community that promotes design innovation and quality of life for an aging society. Greg’s passion for care has led him to the forefront in developing dynamic, vibrant, and compassionate environments for seniors while supporting and fine-tuning efficient operations for owners. Greg helps organizations establish and meet their financial goals by combining budgetary, marketing, operations, and regulatory requirements into an environment that fosters a meaningful life for senior residents. Longevity and a state of well-being take center stage when considering programming, space layout, and design.

Greg focuses on the vital integration of architectural, landscape, and interior spaces designed specifically for senior adults. Pi Architects projects span nationwide with offices in Austin, Texas, and Central Florida.

    VERNON, VT
    Capital Care Associates

    CCA is developing a 60-bed Skilled Nursing Facility in Vernon, Vermont, using the Green House® Model of five homes with ten beds each. Core values include Real Home, Meaningful Life, and Empowered Staff. Adjacent Assisted Living Facility is being renovated. Funded by USDA Rural Facilities Financing Program, the $25M project revitalizes a dated nursing property.

    RYE, NH 
    Capital Care Associates

    CCA completed a project development and financing transaction for a community not-for-profit skilled nursing and assisted living provider located in the Seacoast of New Hampshire. The transaction involved securing $16MM in development financing from a commercial healthcare lender. The project included an expansion of existing operations to accommodate 52 added units of assisted living and memory care programming for the provider. 

    HOLDEN, MA
    Capital Care Associates

    CCA secured $30MM to refinance existing asset interests while completing a major renovation and 40,000 square foot expansion of a skilled nursing property. The full scope renovation extended to  establishment of substantially all private room accommodations; expanded therapy service areas; replacement kitchen; and improved customization of resident care and common areas. The expanded property allowed for the planned merger of an existing respiratory long-term care program unit operating in a leased property.

    Vitality Commons is a four story, 200,000 SF Active Adult Community with 150 apartments and an efficient community center. Features include a luxurious pool courtyard and robust central commons. It also features options to add dining or an independent living conversion.

    NORMAN, OK
    Mixed-Use Senior Living: 206,000 SF
    Pi Architects

    Embracing football culture, the independent living building boasts a sports bar next to a courtyard pool. It offers diverse dining options, including al fresco dining and a coffee bar. Acknowledging senior living trends, there’s a dog park and pet grooming amenities. Through a partnership with the University of Oklahoma, the facility serves as an intergenerational learning campus, offering lifelong classes for those 50 and older.

    Mixed-Use Senior Living: 324,600 SF

    The Carlisle, a new building with 117 units, offers a mix of Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. It boasts wellness facilities, rehabilitation rooms, a cardio studio, day spa, and a nurse practitioners’ clinic. Dining includes “grab-and-go” meals, wait service, and outdoor amenities like walking trails and a dog park. Pi President Greg Hunteman emphasizes designing for active, engaged seniors.

    Multi-Family: 171,000 SF
    Pi Architects

    La Serena on Perdido Key is a Multi-Family Residential Condo, less than half a mile from the white sandy beach of the Gulf of Mexico. With 51 waterfront residences ranging from 1,766 to 4,000 sq ft. the stunning Old World design is second only to the incredible views overlooking Old River and, from the upper floors, the Gulf of Mexico.

    Nestled on St. Petersburg’s signature boulevard, 400 Beach Drive, a Multi-Family residence, ascends 29 stories above street-level shops and cafes.
